1. I don’t sing. Can I still join AU?
Sure! Let us know what your area of specialization is. Whether an instrumentalist, dancer, actor, writer, photographer, designer… or even if you’re interested in music management.

  2. Is there an age limit to AU?
Our youngest member is 10 and our eldest is 45. You’re never too young or too old to be creative!

  3. Are there any AU branches outside Delhi?
Not yet. However, we hope to make AU a national platform for artistes. Do mail us at info@artistesunlimited.org if you would like to help/represent AU in cities outside Delhi.

  4. What is an AU audition like?
AU Auditions for singers consist of two rounds. Round One is conducted individually. We focus on range, voice texture, grasping power, improvisational abilities, etc. Singers who make the first cut, are then called back for Round Two, conducted in a group setting.

  5. How frequently are auditions held?
    Every six months.

  6. Does AU conduct workshops for young children?
An AU Summer Workshop for children is in the pipeline. Mail us for more details.

  7. Are AU singers trained?
AU strives to be an inclusive forum. Prior vocal training is thus, not a prerequisite. We have an extremely rigorous auditioning process. Members are recruited based on their talent, team spirit / willingness to work with others, and commitment levels.

Although AU has developed its own methodology of vocal training, we also draw from the experience of our members who are associated with institutions such as Berklee College of Music, Royal School of Music-London, Trinity College of Music, Akhil Bharatiya Gandharv Mahavidyalaya, Delhi School of Music, Parikrama School of Music, Danceworx Academy, Shiamak Davar’s Institute of Performing Arts, Delhi Music Theatre, Capital City Minstrels, Delhi Christian Choir, YMCA, Teamwork, Encompass, Kidsworld, TAG (Theatre Action Group), and the National School of Drama.

  8. What’s a typical AU session like?
Practice practice practice… and oh, did we mention practice?
We basically live, eat, dream, breathe Music. We’ve had 14-hour rehearsals. Community breakfast, lunch & dinner. It’s hard work but it’s fun! Want to experience it? Join us to find out more!

  9. What are AU’s objectives?
AU is a platform for the promotion of performing arts, with Music as our core focus. Our primary objectives are:
    • To build a platform for, and bridge the gap between, artistes from diverse musical backgrounds – where music spells Cooperation not Competition.
    • To introduce our members and our audiences to myriad genres of music, covering Western, Indian and World music.
    • To use our music to assist and support charitable institutions or purposes.

  10. Who works on marketing… PR… promotion?
Mostly everything related to a production is done in-house. AU members work on conceptualisation, arranging infrastructure, designing sets, costumes, brochures, posters, marketing, publicity campaigns, etc. Watch the AU Profile film for more details

  11. How can I get a copy of your album?
AU’s debut album “En Route” is available online at www.saffronconnect.com/au, and www.underscorerecords.com

  12. As a corporate, what can AU do for me?
AU productions create room for positive associations with the corporate sector. Investments – of finances and in kind – are reciprocated with branding and publicity benefits, and with an association that extends the partnering organization’s outreach into the vibrant youth segment.

Please note: The Artistes Unlimited Charitable Trust has been registered under section 12A of the Income Tax Act, which deems it as being 'charitable'. It has also been registered under section 80 G of the Income Tax Act whereby a donor is entitled to a tax benefit (50% of donation paid) on the donation made to 'Artistes Unlimited Charitable Trust'.

  13. I would like to book AU for a show, but I’m worried about logistics for 80 people.
Not every AU production showcases a large ensemble on stage. The number of artistes and our repertoire varies greatly, depending on event profile, venue, concert duration, etc. Whether it’s a 90-minute high-energy performance by just Eight… or a 10-minute epic performed by 80 singers – AU brings a unique experience to every performance.

  14. What is the AU audience profile like?
From cultural aficionados, young professionals to college/school students - put simply, AU’s audience = serious music lovers.
The strength of our USP - to explore myriad genres of music – communicated in each performance, has led AU to acquire an age-less audience: followers of specific genres – be it pop, Indian classical, jazz, or fusion.
