Our in-house productions not
only provide a platform for Musicians, but for members interested
in Music Management as well. With each production, AU seeks
to empower our members, giving them hands-on experience in
areas ranging from concert conceptualisation, set and light
design, to marketing, public relations and myriad other aspects
that our productions entail.
We believe in Dreaming Big. In just a few years, our ideas
have amplified into concrete realties. We have directed and
produced the following initiatives:
“60
In A-Maze”
- September 2003
Kamani Auditorium, New Delhi
AU’s first independent concert brought 60 musicians
together in a two-and a half-hour concert, celebrating music
in its myriad forms.
Self funded, a first of its kind, a risk perhaps? It was worth
it. The show was sold out 2 days prior to opening night.
“SoulScape
– A Celebration of Sound”
December 2003
Kamani Auditorium, New Delhi
Keeping the festive season in mind, we performed a selection
of carols encompassing different genres from traditional yuletide
music, classical arrangements and jazz, to Indian classical
and Sufi music - this time, with 80 musicians on stage.
“Odyssey”
- August 2004 - Kamani Auditorium, New Delhi
AU’s first Festival of Music featured an 80-strong vocal
ensemble performing a repertoire of nearly 90 songs, including
collaborations with Shubha Mudgal, Parikrama and Them Clones.
The festival aimed at bridging the wide cultural chasms that
currently exist between the myriad Indian and Western forms
of music, by bringing them together in a rich blend of harmony
and melody. It featured:
